EDENBRIDGE UNITED GO FROM STRENGTH TO STRENGTH

Edenbridge United FC are enjoying a season which shows encouraging signs for the future of football in the town at all levels.

The senior side, after a year's absence, is back in the Tonbridge League Premier Division and following the return of many former youth players from three years at University, the squad has new management. Sponsored by The Old Eden, the team is expecting to make an impact in their first season and early results have shown that Edenbridge is likely to have a team to be proud of.

Likewise, the youth section has seen some growth with the addition of an Under 8 side in the Crowborough League and an Under 12 team to compete in the Tandridge League. During the summer, both the Under 13s and Under 9s were finalists in the Tandridge Youth League mini soccer tournament and some players caught the eye of pro club scouts.

One trio certainly dominated proceedings at the club's presentation evening. Brothers Owen, Noel and Jack Leighton all won awards. Owen, the Under 7's Supporters Player of the Year, was matched by Noel in the Under 8's and Jack picked up the Players' Player award in the Under 12's.
